Meet Our Team

Anchor Financial Group was founded in 1989 by Nelson Wingert and Don Yost when they merged their independent practices. The following provides information about our associates:

*Donald E. Yost, founding partner, entered the financial services field in 1976. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Penn State University and the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations from the American College. Don, a member of the Financial Planning Association, has served as President of the American Subcontractors Association of Central PA, Central PA Business Associates, Estate Planning Council of Central PA, Harrisburg Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Harrisburg Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, and the LeTip of the West Shore. He has also been the Chairman of the Board and Moderator of his church, a Director of the PA Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Director of the Central PA Chapter of the March of Dimes, and a member of the Keystone Partnership Master Trust Committee. Don has spoken to many groups on various financial planning topics, is a USA Hockey Certified Coach. He resides in Camp Hill, PA with his wife, Barbara, and daughter, Kelsey.

*Michael F. Howard, a partner with Anchor Financial Group, began his financial services career in 1986. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Messiah College and The Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation from the College for Financial Planning. Mike is a board member of New Hope Ministries and has served as President of the Estate Planning Council of Central PA, as a Board Member and Secretary of The Youth Network, and is a graduate of Leadership Harrisburg Area. He, and his wife, Anita, reside in Mechanicsburg, PA and have 3 grown children.

David R. Foster, an associate of Anchor Advanced Solutions Group, LLC, focuses on business succession/exit planning, wealth transfer management, estate planning, executive compensation and retirement plan design. He earned a law degree from Widener University School of Law and a bachelor's of Science degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Finance and Economics.  He has also earned the designation of Charter Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) from the American College.  He began his financial services career in 1991 and has been the Regional Director of Advanced Solutions for a Fortune 500 Services Company for the last 5 years. Dave resides in Mechanicsburg with his wife, Jennifer and their two children where he enjoys being active in his church and coaching U6 soccer.

*L. Nelson Wingert, founding partner, entered the financial services field in 1966. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Messiah College, an Estate Planning & Marketing Degree from Purdue, and the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from the American College. Nelson, a member of the Financial Planning Association, was President of the PA Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, has served as Treasurer and Director of the PA Association and President of the local Harrisburg Association. He is also past President of Harrisburg Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Nelson received the Harrisburg Association's "President's Award" and the Pennsylvania Association's "Keystone Award." He has served his church as Director of an International Youth Program and as Minister of Music in area churches. He currently is the Director of Messiah Village's "Singing Men." He resides in Mechanicsburg, PA with his wife, Esther.

Denise K. Wurster, Director of Client Relations for Anchor Financial Group, joined the organization in 1996. She holds Life, Accident and Health Insurance licenses in PA and is a Notary Public.  She volunteers for many affiliations involving the youth of Mechanicsburg . Denise resides in Mechanicsburg, PA with her husband, Bill, and daughter and son.

Kimberly S. Eichelberger, Administrative Assistant to Anchor Financial Group, joined the organization in March 2004.  She currently holds Life, Accident and Health Insurance, as well as, Property and Casualty Insurance licenses in PA.  Kim is an active volunteer in the Red Land Cheerleading Association and the Red Land Soccer Association.  She resides in Lewisberry, PA with her husband Greg, and their three children.

 Barbara S. Cassell, Administrative Support to Anchor Financial Group, joined the team in February of 2006.  She is involved in the Grantham Community Association and in addition, she volunteers with children's ministries at church and her son's elementary school class.  Barb resides in Grantham, PA with her husband Randy and their children Austin, Shelby and Morgan.
